Core Industry Consensus
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are fellow entrepreneurs and manufacturers of electronics systems for over 50 years. We have to our credit, over 1000 products and solutions.
In the last decade or so, we have observed that it is getting very difficult for MSMEs in the core sectors to hire quality engineers and technicians. We believe most entrepreneurs are experiencing the same predicament. We all acknowledge that we need engineers and technicians to perform the core technical activities in our units.
How many times have you gone through this painful cycle?
- You advertise vacancies. None of the candidates have any knowledge, skill or relevant experience (we even have a name for them - "unemployable engineers")
- With no viable candidate being available you hire one or more of these "unemployable engineers"
- You have to now train them, in most cases, from the very basics. You invest a lot of time, resources and money in training them "on-the-job", or through your trainee or apprentice programmes.
- You transform them into "employable engineers". Then they move on to other jobs.
You go through this cycle over and over again...You become a "spring board" for these engineers to improve their careers, at your expense.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
We hear these stories regularly form other fellow entrepreneurs, recruiters, placement agencies, industry-academia meets, online forums, friends and family. Other creative hiring methods such as "training" periods with no salary do not work either.
As fellow entrepreneurs we understand the issue of sustaining resourceful manpower. In an effort to come up with a meaningful solution that would benefit us all, we started the KURUGANTI SKILL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE.
